Established in 1998, Chatham Day School opened its doors that first year with 44 students in leased space in The Mansion at Bayley-Ellard, in Madison, New Jersey. The school's academically ambitious program and focus on serving students with a broad range of interests allowed for its development to flourish.
In 2001, with enrollment quickly exceeding 100 students, the school moved to the classroom wing behind St. Rafael’s Church in Livingston, New Jersey. Thanks to the financial support of its dedicated Board of Trustees, parent body, and friends of the school, Chatham Day School purchased its permanent home in Chatham Township in 2005. This 15 acre, beautiful, tree-lined property currently has four buildings used for student activities.
Last year, as we commemorated our tenth anniversary, we hosted our first eighth grade commencement. The school has the capacity to serve 240 students from preschool through the eighth grade.
