Chatham Day School Fact Sheet

About Us:
Current Enrollment: 160 students
Early Childhood Division:  Preschool (3), Prekindergarten (4) Full Day Kindergarten, and First Grade
Elementary Division:  Second through Fourth Grade
Middle School Division: Fifth through Eighth Grade 

Tuition
The following tuition schedule lists the fees charged for the 2009-2010 academic year. 

Preschool/Prekindergarten Half-Day $11,100
Prekindergarten Full-Day $15,700
Kindergarten $20,000
1st Through 4th Grade $21,350
5th Through 8th Grade $22,250


Upon acceptance to Chatham Day School, a nonrefundable deposit of $2,000 for grades kindergarten through eight, and $1,000 for preschool and prekindergarten and a signed contract are required to hold a child’s class placement.  Tuition is traditionally billed in three installments:  June, August, and January.  A monthly payment schedule can be arranged with the Business Office (973-410-0400 ext 11).

Fees
Additional fees are charged for items such as class trips, book fees, technology fees, wrap-around before and after-care, after school enrichment participation, PA dues, and classroom fees.

Lunch Program
Students bring their lunches from home or they can be purchased through our hot lunch vendor. Please note that for the safety of all of our students, peanut and nut products are not permitted in The Stephen and Miray Tse Academic Building or Estate House. Nut products are permitted in the Dining Hall only at designated tables.

Transportation
Chatham Day School serves families residing in far-reaching communities, and many families share the commuting responsibilities through car-pooling. In addition, bus service is available for interested families, provided a reasonable route can be created. Families using this service are responsible for all of the costs of bus transportation.

Dress Code
CDS students are expected to be neat, clean, and ready to learn.  Students are to wear collared shirts,including polos andbutton-downs. Turtlenecks and hemstitched shirts (that are not t-shirts) are also permitted.  Shirts with tails are to be tucked into pants.  Students are permitted to wear sweaters and dresses that do not require a collar.  All dresses, skirts, and shorts are to be no shorter than fingertip length.  Fully zipped fleece jackets are permitted, as are rubber-soled shoes (sneakers).  Jean sor denim of any kind, t-shirts, tank tops, sweat clothes (includingsweatshirts worn as jackets), and flip flops are not permitted except on days designated by the Head of School. 

For convenience and personal choice, many families choose to order logo embroidered clothing from Lands' End.

Program Hours
The school day is from 8:20 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. 
Before-Care:  7:45-8:15 a.m.  
After-Care:   3:30-6:00 p.m.

After School Enrichment Classes:  3:30-4:30 p.m.
