We are delighted to welcome your family to our community and to explain the role that fundraising plays in the finances of the school. The Annual Fund, Endowment Fund, special events, and capital giving are the four ways to demonstrate financial support for Chatham Day School.

The nurturing effects of small classes, innovative curricular approaches in every area of study, stimulating related arts and technology experiences are not supported by tuition alone. These distinctive elements of a Chatham Day School education are all supported by the operating budget. The school’s operating budget pays for the current year’s faculty salaries and benefits, campus maintenance, financial aid, curricular supports, and the miscellaneous expenses associated with running our programs. All independent schools experience a gap between tuition dollars in the operating budget and the actual cost of educating each child. This gap is bridged with the Annual Fund.
