Dear Chatham Day School Families,

While it may seem hard to believe, summer is rapidly heading towards fall, and it is time to start looking to the new school year. And so, on behalf of the Parents Association of Chatham Day School, I would like to welcome you back to CDS for the start of the 2011-2012 school year!

 The goal of the Parents Association is to provide opportunities for the CDS community to come together as parents, families and educators through a wide range of activities.

This year, the PA is focusing on a theme of “Raising Volunteers and Building Community.” We hope to do this through a variety of events both in and out of school. We already have many wonderful happenings in the works, including Grade Level Coffees in the fall and our Annual Gala in the spring. And in December, we’ll be repeating last year’s extremely popular and successful “Bidding for Good” on-line auction event, just in time for the holidays. These events are an amazing opportunity for parents to get involved in school life, meet each other, and come together to produce fantastic events for the entire community.

To kick things off, we would like to invite all of our CDS parents and guardians to join us for our “Welcome Back Coffee” on the morning of September 15^th – right after drop off. Come relax and have a cup of coffee with us, and take a moment to find out what the PA has in store for this year. Whether catching up with old friends or meeting new ones, every family is welcome, and we really hope you’ll take the time to drop by.   In addition to discussing upcoming events and volunteer opportunities, you’ll get a chance to ask any questions you may have about the PA or the school, as well as meet and mingle with fellow CDS parents.

In case you aren’t able to attend, or for those of you who may already think you might be interested in getting involved, I’ve attached some information about some of the many events we’ve got in store for the upcoming school year, as well as other opportunities to get involved with the PA.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the coffee and to an exciting 2011/2012 school year at Chatham Day School.
