Endowment funds are financial assets that generate income. While the principal of the fund remains untouched, part of the income generated can provide a source of revenue. This revenue may be used to cover operating expenses or be reinvested for future benefit. Chatham Day School created its endowment fund in 2007, through the generous foresight of one of our families, and the revenue from it is currently underwriting faculty professional development programs. Increasing the endowment fund is a strategic priority.
