LOWER SCHOOL LEAD TEACHER (Grade 1 or 2)

The Lower School Lead Teacher is responsible for providing a stimulating and developmentally
appropriate educational environment in accordance with the School’s mission and philosophy. 

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in education or related field and preferably a master’s degree. Minimum of 3-5 years Lower School lead teaching experience and a desire to work in a collaborative, collegial community. Experience in independent schools is a plus.

Job Description:​ Plan, implement, and differentiate curriculum in math, reading and writing workshops, science and social studies; communicate with families regarding student progress, both verbally and in writing; meaningfully integrate technology into the academic program; participate in professional development; create a supportive and caring classroom environment in which students can learn and interact positively with one another through student-centered instruction, collaboration and authentic assessment.

 
SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS

Chatham Day School, an independent, coeducational preschool through grade eight school in Chatham, New Jersey, seeks Substitute Teachers for the 2017 - 18 school year. When our full-time teachers are absent, substitute teachers implement the relevant lesson plans while managing the learning environment so that students are encouraged to do their best and reminded to adhere to the routines and structures of the class. Successful candidates will have a bachelor's degree, experience working with children, flexibility, energy, and strong communication skills.
