Capital Campaign

The Time Is Now

More than ever before, there is an urgency to prepare our Chatham Day School students for a future where they will be expected to innovate, collaborate and create. In the fall of 2015, we embarked on The Time Is Now Capital Campaign to build a new state of the art building that embodies our commitment to a new and emerging vision for learning in and out of the traditional classroom, now and in the future. These new spaces allow us to deliver our mission driven program and enhances each student’s overall learning experience here at CDS, from the core academics, to performing and visual arts, to technology and to character education.

The success of
The Time Is Now campaign requires the passion, dedication and investment of the entire Chatham Day School community to achieve the $5 million goal that was required for the completion of our new facilities. Through the generosity of our donors we have raised $3.3 million to date from 29% of our community, but we still need your support. We invite you to join us in achieving our goal with an enduring gift that will make an immediate impact on our students daily CDS experience. Let's finish this together!

Since our beginning in 1998, Chatham Day School has been known for its commitment to excellence, community and most of all, the students. Help us frame the future of CDS and our students for today, tomorrow and forever by supporting the campaign,
The Time is Now!

Overview of New Spaces

Upper and Middle School Classrooms & Learning Commons
The new building is a cutting-edge teaching facility, where modular and flexible classrooms spill out into collaborative spaces to continue conversations students engaged in during classes. With a Learning Commons designed for collaboration, research and group projects, the interdisciplinary experience students will gain at CDS will prepare them for a world we cannot even imagine tomorrow. With these new spaces our middle and upper school students can come together in a space of their own designed for their age and needs. A place to hang out with their friends, and build their own community, a bond that will last far beyond their time here at CDS.

S.T.E.A.M Suite
The new S.T.E.A.M suite ties science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics together on our campus. The S.T.E.A.M suite is designed to transition experiential learning between indoors and outdoors. A home for visual arts, for digital photography, for coding, for our robots and our 3D printer – the i3lab is where students will imagine, inspire and innovate.

Performing Arts Theater
Performing arts will have their own home, a theater with state of the art sound and lighting systems – where we all will enjoy our children taking the stage in the many performances and productions of the school year from a Kindergarten student singing in a grade level concert, to a fourth grader learning the drums, to our eighth graders preparing to give their graduation speeches.

Dining Hall
Our sunlit and spacious dining hall encourages social interactions and nutritious eating habits. Together our students and faculty have an opportunity to gather in a dining hall that reflects and fosters our strong sense of community. A beautiful and unique feature wall welcomes you into the dining hall displaying photos of each and every student and faculty and staff member, who are the heart of our school community.
